Faroe Islands bus routes
Scheduled buses are run for Strandfaraskip Landsins under the Bygdaleiðir name, and they are organised by route number rather than by destination. Find the number first and the rest becomes easy.

The short version
Almost everything radiates from the bus and ferry terminal in Tórshavn. Route 300 goes west to Vágar Airport and Sørvágur, route 400 goes north to Klaksvík, route 100 goes to Vestmanna, and route 650 goes south to Sandoy through the subsea tunnel. The branches to villages connect to those trunk routes rather than to each other.
Separately, the town buses inside Tórshavn are run by the municipality and are free of charge for residents and visitors alike.

Routes by where they go
These are the routes that matter to a visitor. The operator publishes more, mostly local services within a single district, and the route overview below links to all of them.
Airport and Vágar
- 300 Tórshavn – Airport – Sørvágur The airport bus. Route 300 links Tórshavn's bus and ferry terminal with Vágar Airport and continues to Sørvágur, the port for the Mykines ferry.
Stops at Sørvágur
- 350 Tórshavn – Vága Airport – Sørvágur/Bø The weekday extension west. Route 350 follows the same corridor as route 300 and continues beyond Sørvágur to Bøur, the closest published stop to Gásadalur.

Streymoy and Tórshavn
Eysturoy
- 201 Oyrarbakki – Gjógv The bus to Gjógv. Every departure is by request, so it does not exist unless you telephone for it first.
Request only
- 202 Oyrarbakki – Tjørnuvík The bus to Tjørnuvík, the black-sand beach village looking out at the Risin og Kellingin sea stacks.
No weekend service
- 200 Oyrarbakki – Eiði The northern Eysturoy feeder from the trunk route at Oyrarbakki to Eiði.
- 450 Tórshavn – Eysturoy (Jellyfish Roundabout) The subsea-tunnel corridor between Tórshavn and Eysturoy, through the roundabout beneath the fjord.
The northern islands
- 400 Klaksvík – Tórshavn The north trunk route. Route 400 runs between Tórshavn and Klaksvík across Eysturoy, and it is the spine every northern connection hangs off.
Airport link needs notice
- 401 Klaksvík – Tórshavn (Express Bus) The weekday express on the same corridor as route 400, with a shorter stop list and a call at Runavík.
Weekdays only
- 500 Klaksvík – Viðareiði North from Klaksvík to Viðareiði, the northernmost settlement in the islands.

- 506 Trøllanes – Syðradalur The island bus on Kalsoy, running between the ferry berth at Syðradalur and Trøllanes at the northern end.
