What the operator publishes
- The bus and ferry terminal (Farstøðin) at Eystara Bryggja is the terminus for routes 100, 300, 350, 400, 401 and 650.
- The town buses run by Tórshavnar kommuna are free of charge for residents and visitors alike, and have been since 2019.
- Seven town routes serve the municipality; all of them meet at Steinatún, and most also stop at Á Hálsi.
- Tourist Travel Cards are sold at the ferry terminal here.

Getting back from Tórshavn
Tórshavn is the one place where the return leg is easy: it is where the network converges, and the town buses that get you the last stretch to your accommodation are free. The harder direction is outward — check the last departure back to Tórshavn before you commit to any day trip.

Tórshavn in brief
Tórshavn is the hub of the whole network. The bus and ferry terminal at Eystara Bryggja is where the regional buses start, where the Nólsoy and Suðuroy ferries berth, and where the free town buses converge.
Tinganes and the old town
The turf-roofed peninsula holding the government buildings is a few minutes' walk from the terminal, so it fits into a gap between buses.
The harbour front
The Nólsoy ferry berth is in the middle of town, which makes a half-day island trip possible with no planning beyond checking the sailing times.
Free town buses
If your accommodation is uphill from the centre, the free town buses are a genuine convenience rather than a curiosity. All routes meet at Steinatún.
Good to know
- The terminal is where Tourist Travel Cards are sold, alongside the airport information centre and route 300 itself.
- Regional and town buses are different services: the regional Bygdaleiðir routes are ticketed, the town buses are free.
