No scheduled bus stop is published in Gásadalur itself on the current timetables; Bøur, on weekday route 350, is the nearest published stop.

From Vágar Airport
Route 350 calls at the airport on weekdays and continues to Bøur, so on a weekday it is a single bus. At weekends there is no published service beyond Sørvágur.
At a weekend
There is no published scheduled bus beyond Sørvágur at weekends. A taxi, a rental car or a guided tour is the honest answer, not a bus connection.
By bus
What the operator publishes
- Route 300 from Tórshavn and Vágar Airport ends at Sørvágur. Its published stop list does not include Bøur or Gásadalur.
- Route 350 continues past Sørvágur to Bøur, but only on weekdays, and only on a small number of trips each day.
- On the route 350 timetable valid from 31 August 2026, Bøur is the final stop and Gásadalur does not appear at all. Earlier summer timetables were reported to run further; that is not what is published now.
- Because the published position changes with the season, re-check the route 350 timetable close to your travel date rather than trusting any guide, including this one.

Getting back from Gásadalur
This is the return that catches people out. Route 350 publishes only a couple of trips in each direction on weekdays, so the last bus back east is early by the standards of a long summer evening. Read the return column before you travel out, and if the numbers do not work, arrange a taxi from Sørvágur in advance rather than discovering the problem at Bøur.

Walking and hiking connections
Bøur to Gásadalur is a road link through the Gásadalstunnilin road tunnel. The tunnel has no separate footway, so walking it is not something to plan casually. The alternative is the old postal path over the mountain, which is a proper hillwalk in exposed terrain and needs the weather, the daylight and the footwear to match.

Gásadalur in brief
Gásadalur sits above the Múlafossur waterfall at the western end of Vágar. It is the single most photographed place in the islands and, on the currently published timetables, the one where the bus answer is genuinely awkward.

The waterfall dropping straight off the cliff into the Atlantic, with the village behind it. The viewpoint is a short walk from the village.
Bøur
The nearest published bus stop is a village worth the stop in its own right, looking out at the Tindhólmur sea stack.
The old postal path
The route the postman walked over the mountain from Bøur before the tunnel was built in 2004. A serious walk, not a stroll.

- Gásadalur is tiny and residential. There is no bus station, no ticket office and very little shelter.
