36 Sørvágur – Mykines

• Beyond the marked infields around the village, Mykines may only be walked with an approved Faroese guide, on payment of a hiking fee. The puffin colonies are outside the infields. Visit Faroe Islands publishes this as applying between 1 May and 31 August — so the crossing alone does not buy you the walk most people come for.
• The Tourist Travel Card explicitly does not cover route 36 to Mykines. You pay for this crossing separately.
• This is an exposed Atlantic crossing on a small vessel. Treat a same-day return as conditional on the weather, not as a fixed plan, and do not book a flight home for the evening of a Mykines day.
• Outside the published season windows above there is no scheduled sailing at all.
