What can stop this crossing working
- A day return leaves a narrow window on the island. Check both directions of the published timetable before you decide it is a day trip rather than an overnight.
- Cargo has priority booking on some departures, which can affect vehicle space.

Turning up and getting on
- Vehicles must be queued no later than 15 minutes before departure.
- SSL notes you can line up at Krambatangi an hour before departure, and an hour and a half on Sundays for the 17:30 sailing.
- Foot passengers may board on foot or remain in a vehicle.
For visitors
Getting to and from the berth
- Suðuroy is the one island where the journey is genuinely part of the trip — two hours of open water each way.
- On the island, bus route 700 runs the length of Suðuroy and calls at the ferry berth.
