Arriving from each starting point
From Vágar Airport
Bus 300 into Tórshavn, then the ferry. The two do not connect tightly, so allow real slack between them.
By bus
What the operator publishes
- M/F Smyril crosses between Tórshavn and Krambatangi for Tvøroyri in a published 2h 05min.
- Vehicles must be queued no later than 15 minutes before departure; SSL says you can line up at Krambatangi an hour before, or an hour and a half on Sundays for the 17:30 sailing.
- Bus route 700 runs from Sumba through Vágur to Tvøroyri and calls at the ferry berth.
- SSL adjusts the route 700 holiday timetables in connection with Smyril arrivals and departures.

The part people forget
Getting back from Suðuroy
Four hours of the day are spent at sea on a return trip, which leaves less time on the island than most people expect. Read both directions of the ferry timetable together with route 700 before deciding this is a day trip; for most visitors an overnight makes more sense.
